Conversing Our Soundscape of Fear

In an era dominated by the visual our hearing can become an underrated sense. So what can we learn when we consider fear from a sonic perspective in the design field? This question is placed at the centre of the design duo's hybrid platform. Part installation and part podcast station, this project plays host to a series of conversations and sound performances. Each episode involves discussions between moderators, Studiocalh, and a series of guests who have been given the titles of sound agent or sound politician.

The displayed set is the site of podcast recordings-as-workshops created during the exhibition. When not in session the set exudes sonic apparitions of past episodes.

Materials: Steel, sound exciters, foam, aircraft wire.

Episodes and the counter-fear sound library can be listened to at www.conversingfear.online
